Sheila M. Hanzlik-Ellgass' Obituary
Sheila M. Hanzlik-Ellgass, 57, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away Wednesday morning, February 4, 2026, at her sister’s residence in Decatur.
She was born on May 13, 1968, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert F. Hanzlik and the late Mary Jane Catanzaro. Sheila married Edward J. Ellgass, and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Sheila was a member of Boundless Church in Decatur, Indiana.
She was a previous home health care provider and also worked at the Back 40 in Decatur, Indiana.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, diamond art, and listening to Wynonna Judd. Sheila loved her dogs and traveling, especially to Las Vegas.
Sheila is survived by her daughter, Amy (Tony Lombardo) Ellgass of Erie, Pennsylvania; daughter, Christine (Stephen Price) Ellgass of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Shannon Ellgass of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Angela (Thomas Peterson) Boxell of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Darlene (Roy) Zeitvogel of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Charlene (Jimmian) Harmon of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one grandson, Leo Lombardo; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Lynn Ellgass, and her brother, Jeffery Koonce.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Boundless Church in Decatur, Indiana, with Pastor Kevin Straitt and Pastor Dave Fox officiating.
