Sheila Ann Gibson's Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sheila Ann Gibson, who left this world on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. Born in Pennsylvania, Sheila lived her life with a joyous spirit, radiating warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
Sheila is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, David Gibson, who cherished her sparkling laughter and shared many joyful moments, including their sweet indulgences in Sarris Chocolate. She is also survived by her loving brother Ronald J. Riesmeyer and her dear sister Mara Riesmeyer. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Riesmeyer and Anna Rita Riesmeyer.
Sheila was a dedicated nursing instructor, inspiring countless students through her passion for education and her unwavering commitment to the healthcare profession. Her students were her children. Her academic journey culminated in obtaining a Master's Degree, a testament to her hard work and dedication. Sheila fervently believed in the power of knowledge and compassion, qualities that she instilled in her students, shaping future generations of caregivers.
Sheila's zest for life was evident in her love for adventure. She enjoyed leisurely afternoons shopping for antiques in Sugar Creek, Ohio, relishing the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. A proud Irish woman, Sheila embraced her heritage with fervor, and her favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day, was celebrated with a heart full of pride, joy, and cherished traditions.
A devoted animal lover, Sheila's home was brightened by her four beloved dogs: Charlie Brown, Charlene, Baby, and Brownie. Each wagging tail brought her immeasurable joy, and they were a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Visitation will take place at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on January 2nd and 3rd, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To honor Sheila's vibrant life, her funeral service will be held at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on January 4, 2025, at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in honor of Sheila may be made to St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana 59004 or to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boystown NE 68010.
