Sara P. Augenstein's Obituary
The poet Henry David Thoreau's idiom, "marches to the beat of one's own drum", truly defines a life well lived by Sara P. Augenstein. She approached life with an unbridled enthusiasm and found happiness in all things big and small. People were her lifeline and she treasured family and friendships, holding those she encountered throughout various chapters of her life ever close in her heart.

They resided in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania until her dream retirement to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Sara's first employ, of which she forever raved, was with H.J. Heinz Company as a tour guide.
Her three surviving sons, Alan, Todd and Mark, filled her life with great joy, as she cherished her most coveted role as their Mother. With Alan's marriage to Charlene in 1977, Sara alas had her loving daughter. When her youngest son entered grade school, she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. For fifteen years as a teacher in Bethel Park School District, Sara enriched the lives of countless elementary school children.
Her surviving four children will forever miss her adventurous spirit, her wonderful sense of humor, her unparalleled culinary talent, sharing in her love of theatre and the immense thoughtfulness that went into those bottomless packages received every holiday. Rest in Peace, Mother. You did it your way!
