Sandy Hartner Weiss' Obituary
Sandy Hartner Weiss, age 59, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Born on December 5, 1966, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Lois (Lutz) Hartner.
Sandy grew up in Carrick. Her life's work was serving the Lord, and she worked most recently as the Discipleship Director at North Way Christian Community Church - Dormont.
Sandy was one of God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved; clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12). She trusted God in everything, loved people well, and laughed a lot. She loved being a wife, a mother, and an "Ammy" to her grandchildren. We have no doubt she ran into the arms of Jesus and heard the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
She is survived by her husband, Robert Weiss; daughters, Amanda (Sonny) Kupniewski and Emily (Ben) Immel; four grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Siena, Lucca, Avery, and Barrett; brothers, Dave and Denny; and sisters, Peggy and Anne.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her siblings, Jim and Kathy.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 at 10:00am at North Way Christian Community Church - Sewickley, 200 Deer Run Rd, Sewickley, PA 15143.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sandy's name to PKF Kids Foundation (Haiti) https://www.pittsburghkidsfoundation.org/donate.
