Ruth J. Thompson (Slentz)'s Obituary
Age 88, of South Baldwin, formerly of Overbrook and Carrick, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Loving wife of the late Melvin D. Thompson; mother of Robert D. (Marjorie) and Donna J. Thompson; grandmother of Robert, Jonathan, and James Thompson; sister of the late Laura (Slentz) Serris, Dorothy May Slentz, Edmund W. Slentz, Jr., and Francis "Boots" Slentz; daughter of the late Edmund W. and Maude (Forster) Slentz; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ruth was a retired Mellon Bank employee, and enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Ohio.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 12, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 13, at 2:30 PM. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
