CINCINNATI, OHIO - Departed on September 17, 2018. Born in Pulaski, Indiana on March 3, 1923 to Jerry and Nellie Hahn (deceased), sister of Irel and John Hahn. Predeceased by husbands Earl Schoen and Raymond Cienek, brother Irel and sisters-in-law Ruth and Jean Hahn. Survived by sons Steven and wife Dona, Jerry Schoen and wife Ann, brother John, grandchildren Kristina Schoen, Whitney (Schoen) Reynolds and husband Charles, Alastair Schoen, Samantha Schoen and Chelsea Schoen, greatgrandchildren Kaley, Morgan and Colton Reynolds, Aleksandreya Sawka and Elliot January, step-grandchildren Michelle (Cienek) Moorman and husband Christopher of Raleigh, North Carolina, Leigh Ann (Cienek) Hammerbacher and husband Scott of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Thomas Robinson and wife Laura Hart of Columbus, Ohio, step-greatgrandchildren Christopher and Charles Hammerbacher and Lily Moorman.
Resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1945-1997, Greensboro, North Carolina from 1997-2013, and Cincinnati, Ohio from 2013-2018. Former member of Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church (Pittsburgh) and Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church (Greensboro). Ruth retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in 1983 where she had worked in human resources administration. She served both as president of the National Association of Insurance Women and as a delegate to many activities during her career. Her greatest pleasure was doing volunteer work in the local libraries, churches and civic organizations both in Pittsburgh and Greensboro. Services will be at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Memorial Cemetery, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 24, 2018 with visitation at 11AM, funeral services at noon, and burial immediately following. Memorial contributions can be made to the Queen City Hospice Foundation (Cincinnati, Ohio) or the Arthritis Foundation. Online condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
