Ruth Parker's Obituary
Ruth H. Parker, 89, of Whitehall, PA. passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2026. She was born and raised in Portsmouth, OH to the late Charles and Malinda Hollenbeck.
Ruth graduated from Portsmouth High school in 1954. She went on to obtain her BA from Ohio University in 1958 and later her MA from Duquesne University. She spent 30 years as a 1st grade teacher for the West Mifflin school district. In her personal life, Ruth loved to travel, garden, volunteer and participate in a bowling league. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family. Ruth had a wonderful 40 years together with her husband, Robert. She was a loving mother and grandmother, an animal lover and was known for her compassionate and giving nature. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Robert Parker, and her parents.
Ruth is survived by her children Missy (Andy) Hornyak, Bob (Angie) Parker and Bill (Sue) Parker; grandchildren Andy Hornyak Jr., Jenny (Jordan) Kasprack, Zachary (Ashley) Hall, Hannah Hall, Ethan (Katelyn) Parker, Dan (Katie) Parker, Ryan (Linzi) Parker and Emily Parker; great-grandchildren Lily and Heidi Hornyak, Shelby and Carly Kasprack, Ryleigh, Aubrey and Ella Hall, Mason, Jack and Adaline Parker.
Friends and family will be received from 2-8pm on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
There will be a private service held for the immediate family.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
