When I was 12 my mother met my stepfather and I was fortunate to gain a 5th grandparent. Grandma Rose passed away yesterday and as I sit alone I I struggle to think of the words to express what is going through my head. She was there for my high school graduation as well as college. So many Christmas, and Thanksgiving dinners. She truly was a bonus grandparent and I was lucky. With her passing I no longer have any grandparents and that makes me sad, but I am blessed because I had and knew 5 grandparents in my life. I can attest that she was always a kind lady and so happy to see me or any of her grandkids. I know she was not the type to want to dwell on sadness so while I am sad I will try to remember the fried chicken, bowling, and smile she shared. I love you grandma Rose thank you for accepting me as a grandkid for 28 years.
