Ronald S Mulhauser's Obituary
Age 84, Upper St. Clair, passed away on June 21, 2020. Ron was incredibly astute, active, and healthy until the last three months when he faced a prolonged battle against a sudden illness. He was born on November 13, 1935, son of the late Sidney and Pauline Mulhauser.
Beloved husband of Mary Mulhauser for 57 years. Cherished brother of Phyllis Brownlee. Loving father of Lynne Labee and Paula Mulhauser. Remarkable father-in-law to Christopher Labee and Willy Vancrey. Extraordinary grandfather of Sydney Labee and Lilith Labee! Devoted uncle to nieces, Carrie Horton and Mary Anderson.
In his quiet and unobtrusive manner, Ron accomplished many great things and small things in a great way. He served his country. He was a captain of the steel industry having worked as Chief Metallurgist at Clairton Mill Works, Vice President at U.S. Steel, Vice President at AK Steel, and Vice President at GAI Industries. He came out of retirement several times to provide leadership in much needed uncertain times. At each of the several places where he resided (Pittsburgh, Chicago, Cincinnati, Charlotte, and Upper St. Clair), he was a pillar of the community and built lasting relationships where it did not take long for him to grow lifelong friends. Ron was a loving and dedicated husband to Mary where both used their strengths to complement each other. What was important to one was by definition important to the other. Above all, Ron knew that nothing matters more than being a husband, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and uncle. Ron Mulhauser treasured family, friends, and love. Perhaps what Ron will be best remembered for is that he challenged us to dream beyond what we thought was possible, nurtured our spirit, and helped us achieve an incredible future.
