Ronald "Ron" Howard Holzworth
Age 86, resident of of Pleasant Hills for 58 years, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Nancy (Costello) Holzworth. Loving father of Wendy Shepherd (Benton Beach), of Fairfax, VA; David (Maria) Holzworth of Mt. Lebanon; and Eric (Heather) Holzworth of Atlanta, GA. Son of the late Ida and Clayton Holzworth. Brother of the late Clayton Holzworth Jr. and survived by sister Betty Broderick and brother Kerry Holzworth; brother-in-law to Bernard and Barbara Erhart of Allison Park. Also survived by 7 wonderful grandchildren who were his heart. Ron was a graduate of Carrick High School and attended classes at Duquesne University. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the Destroyer Class USS Peterson. He was a twenty-nine year veteran of US Steel Corporation, then ten years with the University of Pittsburgh. Ron is remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He will be missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his fast smile and hearty laughter. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4 - 6 P.M. and Sunday from 2 - 4 PM followed by a funeral service in the chapel at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills.
