Ronald Vincent Armento's Obituary
Ronald Vincent Armento, affectionately known as Ron, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA on August 12, 2023. Born on February 13, 1937, Ron was a beloved figure in his community, known for his loving, kind, and thoughtful nature.
Ron was a hardworking man all his life and a man of many trades. His career began in the photography business, where he helped create catalogs for department stores. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to own Ye Olde Ice Cream Parlor in Caste Village, a popular spot for locals. Ron later became a cable installer for Comcast, and before retirement, he was fondly known as the "Boot Man" for McGann and Chester. His work ethic was admired by all who knew him.
In his retirement, Ron found a welcoming community in South Hills retirement community. His friendly demeanor and sense of humor made him a favorite among his peers. He was a man who knew the value of companionship and friendship, and he was blessed with many friends in his lifetime.
Ron had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and tranquility in the simple act of casting a line. His love for cars was well-known, and he took great pride in his vehicles. But perhaps his most endearing love was for his cats, Lucky and Ruckus, who were his constant companions. Ron's sense of humor was like no other, and he had a knack for making people laugh and feel at ease.
Ron is survived by his son, Ronald (the late Marily) Armento, his grandchildren, Chase Armento and Brandy Skarupa, his sister, Judith (the late Hugo) Del Re, as well as best friends, Bill and Mimi Macek, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Kathy Fresh Armento, his beloved daughter Dawn Marie Armento, his sister, Karen (the late Frank) Koraido, and his loving parents, Vincent and Grace Armento.
Ron's life was a testament to the power of hard work, the importance of family and friends, and the joy of simple pleasures. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Ronald Vincent Armento will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever be a part of the community he loved so dearly.
