Rodney R. Ambrogi's Obituary
Rodney Ambrogi, owner of Al’s Café, Inc. of Bethel Park, PA, passed away on September 29, 2022. He was 75 years old.
He resided in Charleroi, PA and is survived by his daughters Shayne Jerzioro (Frank) of McMurray, PA, and Jordan Ambrogi (Danny Brusco) of Bridgeville, PA, and his longtime partner Susan Thomas of Charleroi, PA. He was the loving grandfather to Frankie Jezioro, Coltin Jezioro, Tylee Ambrogi-Mathews, and Royce Ambrogi-Mathews. He was preceded in death by his father Alfio Ambrogi, mother Della Ambrogi, and his two brothers Allen and Dennis Ambrogi.
Rodney served as a decorated Sargent in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Rodney assumed responsibility of Al’s Café and proceeded to make it into the iconic restaurant it is today. Rodney was also an admired community leader, and worked hard to provide meals and other services to those in need, including first responders, veterans, senior citizens, and children’s teams.
A private memorial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Florida hurricane victims (www.floridadisasterfund.org), Tunnels to Towers (www.t2t.org), or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
