Robert Joseph Vogel's Obituary
Robert Joseph Vogel, age 91, of Spring Grove, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He was born on April 27, 1933 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Henry F. and Eleanor (Wetzel) Vogel.
Beloved husband of Loretta C. (Barth) Vogel; father of the late Sheryl A. Shandor, Cynthia L. Robinson and Sandra J. (Mark) Laratonda; grandfather of Todd Shandor, Desiree Shandor, Gavin Laratonda and Greta Laratonda; 5 great-grandchildren; brother of Judith (Charles) Hartman and William Vogel. He was the son of the late Henry F. and Eleanor (Wetzel) Vogel.
Robert graduated from West View High School, Pittsburgh, PA in 1951. He was a U.S. Marine veteran. He had worked for Allis-Chalmers, Principal and Prudential Life Insurance Companies. Robert was an active sportsman, was the past president of Wenachee and Schaffer Run Home Owners Associations. He was a former member and elder of the Brentwood Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh, PA and St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset, PA.
Friends and family will be received Friday, August 2, 2024 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3 at 12 noon in the funeral home's chapel.
