Dr. Robert F. Michael, Jr.'s Obituary
Dr. Robert F. Michael, Jr., much loved Son, Partner, Brother, and Uncle, was born November 18, 1982 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Known more affectionately as Rob or Robbie, a 2001 Baldwin High School graduate, Rob continued his education with a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, and Doctorate from Point Park University all to aid in his tenure as a cherished and treasured English teacher at Moon Area High School.
Robert’s many passions always seemed to revolve around the theatre. As the head of Drama department at Moon High School, he spearheaded over 20 productions and had numerous students as nominees and winners of the Gene Kelly Awards.
He is survived by his loving partner, Christopher and two dogs, Benson James and Minnie Monroe, his mother and Stepfather, Dr. and Mrs. David and Marie Marraccini, his father, Mr. Robert F. Michael, Sr., his grandmother, Theresa Caporali, his partner’s mother, Sharon Cropp, his brothers, Joshua (Elizabeth) and Jonathan, sister Tanya Broaded (Joshua), his partner’s sister, Heather (Joseph White), nephews Wyatt and Joseph, and nieces Lyla and Emma Margaret, his uncles David (Sharon) and Anthony Caporali, Martin (Stephanie) and Mark Michael, and his aunt Donna (Frank McDine), and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Eileen Michael, his beloved aunts Theresa (Kevin Whitworth), Linda Graffia and Debbie Altman, and his uncle, Patrick Michael.
The family will receive all visitors on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 2 pm - 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh 15236. A private ceremony will take place on Friday, January 26, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in honor of Dr. Robert F. Michael, Jr. to the Moon Area High School Drama department.
