Robert James Lackey Jr.'s Obituary
Robert James Lackey Jr., 75, of Pittsburgh, PA. passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. He was born July 31, 1949 to the late Robert James Sr. and Dorothy May (Berger) Lackey.
Robert proudly served in the Navy, defending his country with honor. His career was a tapestry of diverse roles, his last serving as a security guard. A man of many interests, he greatly enjoyed stage shows and the excitement of live concerts. He found joy on walks around South Park, especially when meeting and visiting with dogs, which was one of his simplest but most cherished pleasures.
Robert was an avid sports fan and he remained informed about the happenings in Pittsburgh, the city's and world news never far from his thoughts. His natural ability to give sound advice made him a cornerstone to those around him.
Robert is survived by his sisters Janet (Tom) Starcich and Karen (Richard) Radaci; nieces and nephews and great-nephews and nieces and his loving neighbors and friends of 30 years, Gary and Stacy Maszle. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Renee Lackey, and his parents Robert James Sr. and Dorothy May (Berger) Lackey.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12pm, on Monday, February 3rd, 2025.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
