Robert F. Flannery III's Obituary
Robert F. “Rob” Flannery III, age 44, of Carrick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of his mom and Presby family. Rob was born on January 2, 1980, in Pittsburgh, the loving son of Dolores J. (Birek) Flannery and the late, Robert F. Flannery, Jr.
Rob was a caring person who would lend a hand to anyone who needed one. He was able to make anyone’s day better with his infectious smile and always stayed positive despite life’s challenges.
Rob was a graduate of Bishop Canevin High School and went on to Duquesne University to further his education. Following his graduation in 2005 from Duquesne University, Rob attended University of Pittsburgh where he received his master’s in science in 2010. Rob was dedicated to his volunteer work at the Center for Assisted Tech at Forbes Tower.
Rob is survived by his mother, Dolores Flannery and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his father, Rob was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Catherine Birek; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Grace Flannery; and his uncle, Kevin Flannery.
Rob’s mother wishes to extend a special thank you to their family on 10 D and G, and to her support system of dear friends for their time, effort and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10:30 am at St. Albert the Great Church, Blessed Trinity Parish, 3198 Schieck St, Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Burial will be held privately.
In honor of Rob’s faithful four-legged companions, Rigby and July, Rob requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Paws with a Cause, 4646 Division, Wayland, MI 49348, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1938.
