Robert Faust's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Faust, age 91, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away July 15, 2016 in Tennessee.
Born in Sommerset County, PA, July 21, 1924, he was a son of the late Grover C. Faust
and Carrie E. Singo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J (married 53 years),
3 sisters, 9 brothers, and grandson, Lance Keckler.
He served in the Navy during the World War II with service in the Pacific. He learned the
bricklaying trade and later built houses as a contractor. He then learned the insurance
trade and retired as an insurance broker.

Bob played the violin at age 12 and learnt the mandolin while in the service. He played
for family and friends at gatherings and visited nursing homes to entertain regularly. He
was accomplished song writer and published poet. At age 60 he began roller skating
regularly until 70 -88 years when he took up square dancing.
The last 10 months of his life he spent with his son, Wayne near Nashville, Tennessee.
Even there he entertained others by reciting poetry.
Bob is survived by his son, Wayne R. Faust, daughters, Karen J. Marrero (Santiago),
Janet M. Creighton, Carole A. Heidkamp (Chuck); grandchildren: Wade, Joel, Derek,
Robert, Michael, Jeffrey, Ashley, Melissa, Ken and Charleen, and two great-
granddaughters: Lark and Wren.
Visitation at 10 am, and a celebration of his life will be at 11:30 am Saturday, July 23,
2016 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, PA.
