Robert "Bob" E. Lakomy's Obituary
Robert E. "Bob" Lakomy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, in Pittsburgh, at the age of 88. Born on May 27, 1936, in Baldwin he was the son of John and Marie Lakomy.
Bob's professional life was marked by a long and fulfilling career at the USPS air hub at Pittsburgh International Airport, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Bob was an avid golfer, he could often be found on the greens, relishing the game and the companionship of fellow enthusiasts. His love for boating and fishing led him to Conneaut Lake and Pymatuning, where he kept his boat and where he and his father had built their family cottage. These places held a special place in his heart, as they were the backdrop for countless cherished family moments.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Electra Lakomy; children Lynn (Gary) Burner and Phillip (Jessica) Lakomy; grandchildren, Gary (Colleen) Burner, Allison (Tyler Albitz) Burner, Karissa Lakomy, Lillian Lakomy; great-granddaughter, Grace Burner; and his sisters, Gloria Keller and Jeanette Seaman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Lakomy; and siblings, Rita Zola, Dorothy May and Daniel Lakomy.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to UPMC Family Hospice, 700 Bower Hill Road, Suite 1405, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 20th from 1-4 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A Blessing Service will be held on Monday, October 21st at 10 A.M. in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
