Rita T. Yoest's Obituary
Rita T. Yoest, 97, of Pleasant Hills and Jefferson Hills, PA, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on December 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Miller Stack and the loving wife of the late Harold C. Yoest.
Rita was a homemaker who exemplified love, strength, and a spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her stubborn tenacity and fiery charm, qualities that endeared her to family and friends alike. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, relishing moments spent completing puzzles, immersing herself in Hallmark movies, and sharing milkshake dates with her family-each occasion a celebration of love and connection.
Rita was also a devoted member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church - Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, who found solace and strength in her Catholic faith.
Rita is survived by her son, Mark (Arleen) Yoest; daughter, Heidi (William) Myers; daughter-in-law, Laurie Yoest; grandchildren, Ashley (Efrain), Zac, Trevor, Erik, Adam (Danielle), Katelyn, Taylor, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Myah, Veronica, Leonardo, Kaylie, Brayden, Saige, and Sierra; and many extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Rita was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Patricia Yoest.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh PA, 15236. A Blessing Service will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
