Rina M. Haines' Obituary
Rina M. Haines, age 92, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of family. She was born in Clairton on August 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Sabatino and Nella Mungai.
Rina was the beloved wife of 33 years to the late Edward A. Haines. She leaves her grandson, Marc (Angie) Haines, great-granddaughters, Grace and Leah Haines, nieces, Lisa (Jim Richwine) Benedetti and Tina Benedetti, as well as many extended family members. In addition to her husband, Rina was preceded in death by her son Greg (Katie) Haines, grandson, Scott Haines, and sister Mary (the late, Adolph) Benedetti.
Rina enjoyed a long career of 28 years with US Steel doing both administrative and analyst work until her retirement in 1986. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church where she was very involved with volunteer work in her church community.
Rina was a very independent woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of taking the bus into Pittsburgh to enjoy a day of shopping or lunch with her friends. She had great love for the Steelers and delighted in watching a game or chatting with family about her favorite players. During her free time, she always could enjoy a good round of golf or a game of cards.
