My dad was a good dad. He was a very patient, quiet and good natured man. Growing up with him I felt safe and loved. He had many interests and gifts and talents. There was nothing I can remember, other than my sister's \"bubble watch\", that he couldn't fix if broken. He had a passion in life to figure out how things worked, and was willing to try many things to see what he could do with them. I remember his gentleness and care with animals and in later years told me so many entertaining and endearing stories of his youth raising chickens. He taught me a lot of lessons about life and animals and now I hold dear many of the sayings and life truths he had used to parent me, which I then passed on to my own children raising them. One of my favorite recent memories will be when I prayed over him as he was getting very weak to speak and the most he could muster afterwards was \"I liked that!\" with a joy and light in his eyes I don't ever want to forget. His countenance was peaceful. And reminding him of how God's Word describes heaven in the book of Revelation and his excitement in his face and \"I can't even imagine!\" comment and his anticipation of seeing Jesus face to face. I will see you again dad-until then, rest in your new home, and enjoy walking again with your Savior. Thank you God, for the gift of my dad.
