Richard S. Holland's Obituary
Richard S. "Dick" Holland, 87, of Brentwood, entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Mt. Oliver, PA, on September 17, 1935, the loving son of the late Harold and Catherine (Louda) Holland. He grew up on the South Side Slopes graduating from St. Michael High School. Dick enjoyed a long career of 42 years with the Allegheny County Public Works Department. He was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying baseball, golf, and bowling. In 1954, he was a member of the New York Yankee's Farm Club.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Holland and his son, Jeffrey Holland and his wife, Robin; as well as several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his stepfather, Gilbert Waldo; his brother, Harold Holland; and his former wife, Patricia Ryczkowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 4-9 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 am. Burial will be held privately.
