I met Rick at our networking meeting around 7 years ago. He was always so nice and pleasant to talk to about business or life. He was honest and friendly. I was so sad to hear that he was sick. He seemed to be getting stronger. It was even more sad when I learned that he passed away. He will be missed by so many people.

My condolences to the family and friends of Rick. Rick was an extremely nice person I met at BJJ classes. I enjoyed rolling with him at open mat on Sundays because he was always a tough guy as well as thoughtful. At a tournament once he gave me words of encouragement when I was sitting there after losing. He'll be missed. Even though I wasn't a close friend like others at the gym were , I do consider him a friend. RIP
Rick, you paddled into the big stuff and surfed it like that's what it was there for. I'm not talking about the foamy, fluffy, glassy, or perfect... I'm talking about Big Nasty and Coliseum at 5+ feet... like... you were saying to yourself, \"I can do that.\" You'd ask, \"Anyone else want to go with me.? Sometimes we did, but most times we watched you paddle in and come out with a smile. You'd say, \"That was fun.\" Or, \"I don't think that really worked out.\" Or... \"I'm not sure I'd do that again.\" But, dang you could paddle, man. And it was fun while we did. I'm sorry I wasn't able to know Rick personally, but his support for our cause (Tap Cancer Out) was heartwarming and we are saddened to hear of his passing. We are thinking of him and his family today and will share a tribute to him on our Instagram page. His spirit will remain with us as we continue our fight. <3
