Richard Joseph Grusofsky's Obituary
Richard J. Grusofsky, age 83, of Clairton, passed away on April 11, 2026.
Richard served in the United States Army for 3 years. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to his work as a coal miner, a profession he embraced with pride and diligence. In his later years, he worked as an operator for Pittsburgh Regional Transit. He instilled the values of hard work and responsibility in his family, a lasting legacy that will continue through them. Richard was always up for anything, whether it was a family gathering or an occasional trip to the casino. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and great uncle who will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his wife Jill (Rush) Grusofsky; son Shawn (Megan) Grusofsky; grandchildren Peyton and Teegan Grusofsky; great nephews Reid and Hayden Kuhn; sister-in-laws Wendy Gitas and Mary Puckett; brother-in-laws Dan Rush and Gregg Rush. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joesph and Elizabeth Grusofsky.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh 15236.
