We were shocked and saddened to hear of the recent death of Rich. Rich was a long time volunteer and board member at the Dormont Historical Society. His incredible knowledge of local history and his cheerful demeanor were welcome assets to the society. He will be sorely missed by all of us. Rich and I worked on a number of projects together and I had come to appreciate Rich as a friend as well as a fellow member. Rich was like that. Once you met him you were immediately drawn to that big smile and friendly personality. We would all like to extend our most sincere and heart felt condolences to all the members of his family. May your memories of Rich sustain and comfort you in this time of grief and for years to come.

As an avid historian, Dick attended the Bettis presentation at Heinz History Center in mid December & could barely walk using his cane and was not permitted to park in a handicap spot.. close to the center; after the program & seeing how difficult walking was for Dick, we picked him up at the HHC door & drove him back to his car. I admire his dedication to his many historical societies and how he didn’t let ill health impede him in attending many programs.

Rich was an original member of the Baldwin Historical Society. We honored him with a grove of three trees. He will be missed at the meetings. God Bless Rich.
Dick Gaetano was a really good guy, was always positive & a pleasure to talk to. He was the spark plug for the South Hills Coin Club, arranging all the programs & helping out at our yearly show. He was the last original member of our club that was founded in 1960. He will be sorely missed.
We will pray for his soul.
