I just learned of Rick's passing from his wife and the events surrounding his final hours. I knew Rick from the Washington Elementary School yard sandwiched in between Mellon Junior High and Central Square in Mount Lebanon. He was associated with of a group of guys called the “Dukes” along with Tom Brown and a cadre of others, too numerous to name. Rick and I kept in touch from 1967 thru the years; either via emails or phone calls. Unfortunately; health issues plagued Rick in his retirement years. Whenever I flew up from Florida we would link up for lunches at the South Park Inn / Max & Erma’s / or Bado’s. Rick was admired, respected, loved and trusted within his circle of friends and at his work place. He could always be counted on. If he said he would be there you could count on that. I will always cherish our friendship and will always remember Rick as a good Joe. I know he loved his family and his dog; which I believe was a Labradoodle. I will miss him and hope his travels will help him reach his final rewards.
Rick was the greatest neighbor. He and Mary were one of the first to welcome us to the neighborhood when we moved to Southwell Drive 4 years ago. I loved talking to Rick as he sat in his folding chair and hearing all his tales. RIP Rick.
Deepest sympathy to Mary & family. We enjoyed so many good times together. We will miss him. Rest In Peace Rick🙏🙏🙏🙏
