Regis A. Vrana's Obituary
Regis A. Vrana, 91, of Bethel Park, died Friday, March 25, 2022.
He was born August 30, 1930, in Detroit, MI before moving to Washington, PA and then Carmichaels, PA. He was the son of Joseph, Sr., and Lillian (Wisniewski) Vrana.
Mr. Vrana was a 1948 graduate of Cumberland Township High School (now Carmichaels Area). Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and spent three years in Korea. He served in the Army Corp of Engineers and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On October 25, 1952, he married the love of his life, Virginia Paoli, who died October 20, 2005.
Mr. Vrana was a draftsman for the Pennsylvania Highway Department in Uniontown before moving to Penn Transformer and remaining through the McGraw-Edison years, eventual retiring from Cooper Industries.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph Vrana, Jr., Raymond Vrana, and Robert “Bob” Vrana, his sisters Delores Pirl Hand and Brenda J. Kline, and son-in-law John Maksin.
Surviving are three children, Regis V. (Diane) Vrana of Franklin Park, Ronald Vrana of North Strabane, and Regina Maksin of Pleasant Hills; three grandchildren, Anthony Vrana, Natalie (Aaron) McConnell and Stephanie Vrana.
There will not be viewing. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Germaine Church, 7003 Baptist Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Jefferson Memorial Mausoleum. Condolences may be shared at www.jeffersonmemorial.com
