Raymond Thomas Morgan's Obituary
Raymond "Ray" T. Morgan, of Carnegie, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 17, 2025.
Raymond was born in Saugherties, NY but spent most of his life in West Newton, PA. He graduated from Monongahela High School and went on to achieve an electrician apprenticeship that would serve him well in his career as an electrician. He also worked in refrigeration at USS Clairton Works. When duty called, he served in the army from 1970 to 1976, primarily working as a cook at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, showing the next generation the values of kindness and bravery.
Retirement gave him ample time to branch out and share his skills. He used his sense of humor and wonder to entertain those in most need of a laugh. He participated with the Shriners Syria Shrine Hariage Unit as his clown persona AC Sparks. He was also an extremely good pool player that was hard to beat.
Many would come to look up to him as the President of the Lions Club in West Newton. He achieved Master 32nd degree and served as the Worshipful Master of the Blyth Lodge #593 Masons.
All of these accomplishments are just examples of the kind of man Ray was: kind, humorous and always willing to help. He has had a lasting impact on his greater community and will be greatly missed in these spaces.
Raymond cherished his family above all else. He was a loving spouse of 52 years to Kathy Morgan, a devoted father to his two children, John Morgan (Amber), and Christine Kolenc (William), cherished grandfather of Oliver Kolenc and brother to Shiela Tirpak and Chuck Morgan Jr., and Uncle Ray to his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Eleanor Morgan.
Family and friends are welcome to join for visitation on Monday December 22, 2025 from 4-8pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh PA 15236. A blessing service will be held on December 23 at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
