Ralph D. Marcheleta's Obituary
Ralph D. Marcheleta, a loving family man and respected community member, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023. Born on January 29, 1928, in Clairton, PA, the son of Raffaele and Josephine Marchelletta, Ralph lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion to his family and community.
Ralph was a proud veteran of the Korean War, where he demonstrated bravery and dedication to his country. After his service, he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #5, where he worked diligently for many years. Ralph's work ethic was unmatched, and he was highly respected within his association for his integrity and commitment to his craft.
Ralph was a devoted husband to his wife, Catherine Marcheleta, with whom he shared an incredible 70-year marriage. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with mutual respect, admiration, and unwavering support. Together, they enjoyed their retirement by traveling across the United States, making precious memories and exploring the beauty of their country.
Family was the cornerstone of Ralph's life. He was a loving father to the late Deborah Marcheleta, Dianne (John) Archer, Linda Marcheleta, Joseph (Lisa) Marcheleta, and doting grandfather to Jason Archer, Daniel Archer, Alan (Sara) Archer, Kate (Cameron) Nightman, Rocky (Jessica) Marcheleta, and Nicco (Maria) Marcheleta. Ralph was also a cherished great-grandfather to Josiah, Broc, Ava, Mila, Coralie, Cooper, Reese, and Nora. His family was his pride and joy, and he took immense pleasure in their accomplishments and growth.
Ralph was not only a family man but also a builder of homes and relationships. He and his family built each other's homes, a testament to their unity and shared commitment. He was always there to lend a helping hand, demonstrating his belief in the importance of family.
Ralph was an avid reader. He loved reading everything, from the daily newspaper to complex novels. This hobby not only broadened his perspective but also kept him engaged and curious about the world around him.
Ralph's life was a testament to a life well-lived, characterized by service, love, and dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of family unity, hard work, and a passion for learning. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received Monday, September 25th from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 26th at 12:30 P.M. in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
