Ralph DeGenes' Obituary
Ralph “Sonny” DeGenes, Age 82, of Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2020, at his home. Born on December 18, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Ralph and Mary (Smersky) DeGenes. He was a US Army Veteran. While he was stationed Bamberg Germany, he met the love of his life, Sieglinde B. "Ziggy". They shared 62 wonderful years together raising their children then watching their grandchildren grow before her passing in 2019.
Ralph worked as a corrections officer at the Allegheny County Jail for 30 years. In his spare time, he loved traveling with his wife and helping at his daughter and son-in-law's family restaurant up until March of this year.
He is survived by his four children; Sherry (Dennis) Frisch, Ralph "Dino" (Janet) DeGenes, Pamela (Glenn) Wild, and Anthony DeGenes; loving grandfather of Brittany (Dan) Kail, Chad, Courtney and Chelsey Frisch, Amber, and Nicholas DeGenes; great-grandfather to Sebastian and Olivia Kail and Jaxon DeGenes; also survived by cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife and his parents.
