Rachel Irdi's Obituary
Rachel Irdi, 96, of Duquesne, lovingly embraced life for nearly a century before peacefully passing away on April 7, 2025. A devoted mother and cherished friend, Rachel's warmth and kindness resonated with all who knew her.
Rachel was a talented seamstress and dedicated her life to crafting beautiful garments that brought joy to her family and community. Cooking home made, traditional Italian meals was another passion. She lovingly prepared nourishing feasts that brought everyone together around the table to share stories and laughter. Often these stories would take us back to her life growing up in San Severo, Italy.
Rachel is survived by her beloved sons, Joseph and Gino(Kathy)and Olvino Irdi; cherished grandchildren, Natalie Petresseky(Nick), Nicole Galore(Chris) and Nigel Irdi; sisters, Caesaria Nardino and family,Solly Battello and family and Esterina Franchi (Sergio) and family and great-grand-daughter Isabel Galore. She has family members in Australia Gus Irdi, Maria Irdi and families. Each family member will carry forward her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering familial love.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Olvino Irdi, parents Pasquale and Erenia Cipriani; daughter Lina Joanne Collins, sisters (Leonilda Ciumei and Eufemia Hugelmann, brother in law Arnaldo Battelo and Luigi Nardino, Leonardo Ciummei
