Peter Ludwig Sabat passed away on Saturday, June 18th at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 20, 1938 in New York City, son of Mary and Peter Sabat. Peter attended Chelsea High School and graduated in 1957 and then served 23 years in the military. He received several commendation medals including a Bronze Star and Purple Heart while serving as both a Marine Corp Drill Instructor and Army Counter Intelligence operative. He then joined the Allegheny County police, later retiring from the Pennsylvania State Capitol police. Peter is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rosemary Sabat, son Peter Frank Sabat and daughter-in-law Stacey Valalik. Peter will be remembered as a kind and generous person with a good sense of humor. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd at 11 AM at the Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Please meet at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills,15236 no later than 10:50 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Research Institute (pcri.org).
