Peter A. Kostanich Jr., 84, of Whitehall, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kathy (Clayton)Thomas, of Monroeville, his son Peter A. Kostanich III, daughter-in-law Debra Kostanich of McMurray, PA. His great granddaughter Audrey Jane Venzin, granddaughters, Kelly (Tim) Venzin and Kari Kostanich; grandsons Michael Thomas, Peter Kostanich IV, and Paul Kostanich; also his sister, Babe. He is preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Stella and Peter Kostanich; two sisters, Ann and Marie; and two brothers, Steve and Bob. Peter graduated from Baldwin High School in 1951. He played 4 years on the golf team. In his senior year he lead the PIAA with a 72 for 18 holes. A year later, he was honored and received his PGA cards. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ingraham (DD-694) from 1956-1958. After his honorable discharge he built and operated a successful painting business (South Park Painting) for over 50 years. He had a passion for cars and local history. Family and friends welcome on Tuesday from 1-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh PA 15236.
