Peggy Rosalene Sonick's Obituary
Peggy Rosalene Sonick, 90, of Pittsburgh, PA. passed away on December 12, 2025. Born on February 7, 1935 in Webster Springs, WV to the late Oliver and Gladys Carpenter.
Peggy was known by many as a loving caregiver. She would often take charge when help was required and took care of her family and neighbors in times of need. Peggy was certainly open about her opinions and loved a good conversation, but she always kept an open mind. She was also known for her humor. Peggy reliably would always have a corny joke to tell to brighten your day.
In her personal time, Peggy was an avid reader, making trips to the library for her weekly group meetings and to go watch movies. She was also a member of a regular rosary group when she lived at Canongate. She loved getting out to go on walks most days and even using the treadmill when she couldn't go outside.
Peggy is survived by her daughters Patricia (Jim) Bruder, Diane (Douglas) Curran and Deborah (Robert) Greene; grandchildren Brandon, Kaitlyn and Patrick Bruder, Jesse and Ashley Greene; siblings Patty Greene and Richard Carpenter; and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband William J. Sonick, her parents, siblings Toni Lesoon, Polly Cross, Donald Carpenter, Frank Carpenter, Teddy Carpenter and Cecil J. Bickel.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
Funeral Service will be private.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
