Pauline Roberta Buel's Obituary
Pauline Buel passed away on November 20th 2024, at the age of 90 in Woodbridge, VA. Born on August 31, 1934, in Pittsburgh, PA, Pauline touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Buel, with whom she shared a devoted marriage of 54 years.
Daughter of the late Emma Smith, Pauline was the oldest of nine siblings; George, Emma, Patricia, John, Leo, Billy, Phyllis and Howard. She had two loving daughters; Robyn Cronje (Simon), and Lori Demas (Thomas). Pauline was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Kate Cronje, Tyler Cronje, Thomas Demas (Alex), Matthew Diomataris (Hannah), Brittany Brunelle (Chris), Luke Demas, and Dominic Demas. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her five great-grandchildren: Alma Demas, Raymond and Reiley Diomataris, and Jack and Finn Brunelle.
Pauline's journey took her to the Norfolk and Virginia Beach VA area in 1965 with her husband, where she lived until 2004. They then moved to Woodbridge VA to be closer to their daughters. Pauline enjoyed sewing, baking, bingo, bowling, and babysitting. Her faith was an important part of her life. Aside from attending Mass she spent much time volunteering at church which included being a sponsor for catechumens entering into the Catholic Church. Her life was one of caring and generosity.
Pauline's life was marked by her unwavering strength, especially in the face of Alzheimer's in her later years. Her grace and dignity through the challenges of the disease were an inspiration to all around her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace.
