Paul Andrew Plichta's Obituary
Paul A. Plichta, age 82, of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, June 3, 2024. Paul was born on January 3, 1942, in Homestead, the son of the late Andrew and Mary Lou (Kraniak) Plichta.
In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Jane Plichta, Paul is survived by his two loving children, Brian (Jamie) Plichta and Jenny (Jason) Pryor; and his four grandsons, whom he adored, Logan, Landon, Jared, and Jaden. Paul also leaves his brothers-in-law and their families, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well as his furry companion, Honey.
Paul had a lifelong passion for cars both as a hobby and a profession. Paul had a long career of business ownership in automotive sales, service, repair, and towing, most recently being the owner of Superior Auto. Throughout the years he employed and worked with many people who became lifelong friends.
Paul was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams, especially enjoying the Pirates and Steelers, and he never missed the opportunity to cheer his grandsons on in their own sporting events. In his earlier years, Paul enjoyed the companionship of friends at the Eat n' Park in Homestead, where he and his buddies would gather in their cars to share a meal and listen to the oldies.
Paul will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm and 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Agnes Church, 622 St Agnes Ln, West Mifflin, PA 15122. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
