Patrick Wardlaw's Obituary
Patrick "Pat" Wardlaw, a kind, wise, and thoughtful man, passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2023, in Jefferson Hills, PA. Born in Connellsville, PA, on September 30th, 1941, Pat's life was characterized by an unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his work.
Pat was a devoted family man, survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Tanya Wardlaw. His commitment to his family was evident in the love he poured into his children, Joe (Sharon) Wardlaw and Crista Sabo. He was also a cherished grandfather to Michael Wardlaw, Matthew Wardlaw, Hannah Wardlaw, Dylan Sabo, and Nicholas Sabo. His sister, Mary (Albert) Tarasi, also survives him. Pat was predeceased by his parents, James and Cecelia Wardlaw, and his siblings, James Wardlaw and Cecelia Ann Morrell.
Throughout his career, Pat was known for his wisdom and thoughtfulness. He worked for Lucent Technologies for 38 years as an Operations Supervisor, where his influence and leadership were greatly appreciated. His colleagues and peers recognized him for his dedication to the job.
Pat was a practicing Catholic, whose faith guided his actions and decisions. He was a beacon of kindness and wisdom, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. His faith was a cornerstone in his life, shaping the man he was and the legacy he leaves behind.
Among Pat's many interests, he had a particular love for traveling with his family to Duck, North Carolina. There, they enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the beach, creating countless memories together. Above all, Pat cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. His love for his family was evident in the way he spoke about them, the way he cared for them, and the way he prioritized them in his life.
Pat Wardlaw was a man of integrity, kindness, and wisdom. He was a role model to many, demonstrating through his actions the importance of family, faith, and hard work. His legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of faith, and the value of family. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends will be welcomed for Memorial Visitation on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023 from 2:00pm-7:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday, July 3rd, 2023 from 10:00am-10:30am in the funeral home chapel, Graveside Inurnment with Military Honors to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
