Norman David Hogg's Obituary
Norman D. Hogg age 86 of Bethel Park on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Norm was the son of Walter Jr. and Eleanor Violet (Westwood) Hogg and grew up on Sprucewood Street in Carrick. Beloved husband of Marilyn (Atkins) Hogg for 62 years. Survived by son David and daughter Bonnie (Ken) Porter, grandsons Nash Porter, Wyatt Porter and Andrew Hogg; and by several nieces, nephews, and many cousins. He was the brother-in-law of Tom (Janis) Atkins, the late Richard (late Mary Ann) Atkins and Cheryl Atkins. He was the brother of the late Walter (Julie) of Sumter, SC.
While in the U.S. Coast Guard stationed in Traverse City, MI, Norm was part of several lifesaving search and rescue missions. He was employed by Duquesne Light for 34 years and enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, bird watching from his back porch and anything Scottish.
Norm was a member of the Dormont-Whitehall Masonic Lodge #684, the Syria Shriners, the Syria Flying Fezzes, and the American Legion Post 760 in Bethel Park. He was the Cub Scout leader of Pack 209 at Hillcrest Elementary School.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, January 2nd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 3rd at 10am.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
