Jane, Carolyn, and all the family, my deepest sympathy. Nick was a great guy. I always enjoyed our “family” dinners and our conversations with you and Nick. I’m so glad the friendship that our children developed in college allowed us all to become lifelong fiends.
Nick & Jane, Jane & Nick! They blended so well together. I am Jane’s younger sister, June and I have never known the world without Jane in it. I have looked up to her by whole life and when she started dating she may have briefly kissed a few frogs BUT when it came to marriage she waited for a Prince among men and that was Nick Long! What a pair! Their children reflect their faith and values and the beat goes on. Nick was the love of Jane’s life and one of my families favorite people on earth. He brought love, laughter faith and hope with him where ever he went. “Yea Baby”. Well done good and faithful servant. We will see you again in that far far better place that God has prepared for us. Rest in Peace Nick! You have run your race so well, passed the baton and you are HOME!

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Long’s passing. I graduated Pitt Dental School in 1990 and he was my advisor. He was one of my favorite instructors and had a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Nick Long was truly one of the finest men we have been blessed to know and call our friend. Our close friendship began more than 50 years ago and afforded our families to share countless significant events, as well as precious time just being together. Our storehouse of shared memories is rich, and we will treasure each one as we remember precious Nick and all he meant to us. Kathy and Barry Wetzel
I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you and your dear family during this time of great loss.
It is very cliche but Nick was a scholar and a gentleman. I had the privilege of being Nick and Janes neighbor for many years loved them like family. I will miss him dearly. Suzie Q

The lucky few times that we had the pleasure of being with Nick Long were special. He always made us feel welcome and he was quick to laugh. What was most evident was the love and pride he felt for his family. You could see it in the twinkle in his eyes and the smile on his face, especially when the grandchildren were nearby.
