Robert Michael Caldwell (Mike)- October 4, 1938 - May 2, 2021
Mike Caldwell of Pittsburgh, PA, married for 50 years to wife Diana (Slagle), survived by brothers Jack, Terry and Preston, children Thomas (Susan), Elizabeth Ann, Mark (Kelli), and Michelle, grandchildren Michael, Brian, Kevin, Cody and Madison, great grandchild Michael Jr. He is also survived by his aunt Yvonne Caldwell Hanchen (Roger) whom he loved as a sister, and many nieces and nephews that he adored.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mary Catherine (Davis) Caldwell, Harry (Chick) Caldwell, son John Michael (Mickey), sister Candace Madura, and beloved step-mother Myrtle Caldwell.
A US Army and Army Reserve Veteran, Mike served in the Falkland Islands. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and followed in his father’s footsteps serving for 22 years as an officer with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
Mike was a member of Franklin St. John’s Trinity Lodge 221 for 41 years. He enjoyed reading, photography, antiques, gardening and selling goods at the flea market with his best friend Dennis.
Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Thursday, May 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A private funeral service will be held.
