Mickey Kanonik, 74, of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 2, 2016. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1942, to Michael and Dorothy Kanonik.
Mickey is survived by his beloved Wife of 52 years, Mary Lou (Cavanaugh) Kanonik.
Mickey is also survived by his Son, Mark (Sandy); Two Granddaughters, Holly and Erica; Three Grandsons, Mark 2.0, Calvin and Mason; Six Sisters, Marianne, Pat, Barb, Audrey, Debbie, Denise and his Brother, Bob; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Michael; Mother, Dorothy; Son, Mike Jr.; Sister, Judy and his Brother, Joe.
Mickey was a Navy Veteran who served on the USS Forrestal. During the Cuban Blockade, he also served on the USS Oxford. Mickey loved his grandchildren and his collection of Navy memorabilia.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a worthy Veteran's cause. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
