Maxine L. Marshall's Obituary
Maxine L. Marshall (Hamaker), passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at the age of 87 in McKeesport, PA. Born on November 14, 1936, in Reynoldsville, PA, she was the daughter of Floyd and Julia Hamaker.
Maxine married the love of her life, the late H. James Marshall, with whom she shared a beautiful journey until his passing. Together, they raised a family that came to include their loving children, Richard (Cynthia) Marshall, Kevin Marshall, and Lisa Marshall, and their adored granddaughter, Kelly (Michael) Newland. Maxine also leaves behind her beloved sister, Shirley McFarland; she fondly remembered her late siblings, Bernice Maringo, William (Nancy) Hamaker, and Dolores Holt; Maxine also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker by profession, Maxine took pride in creating a welcoming and beautiful home for her family. Her skillful hands crafted drapes and various household items. Her gardens were a splash of color and life that brought joy to all who saw them. An avid reader, Maxine's love for mysteries was so profound that she maintained a list to keep track of her literary adventures. Her keen mind delighted in the twists and turns of each new plot, and she often shared her latest finds with friends and family.
Maxine and her husband, James, were fond of travel and adventure. They spent many happy times together on cruises to destinations with warm weather, basking in the sun and the company of one another. They also shared a love for playing cards with their friends, a pastime that brought them joy and friendly competition.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 27th from 2-4 P.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 4 P.M.
