Mary Lloyd was a dedicated registered nurse. In her career years, she worked at Manor Care, St. Clair Hospital and Life Pittsburgh. She was the kind of nurse who brought love and genuine warmth into a patient’s room. Mary’s patients got the best possible care which often meant her going above and beyond her job description.
She believed in being a patient’s advocate – and saw that as her mission in life. Mary always looked out for the welfare of patients. Later in life, when she was a nursing home resident – she became the eyes and ears of the floor. Mary continued to make sure others got the care she knew they deserved.
When she wasn’t working, Mary loved dancing, antiquing and spending time with family and friends. She would work a full shift yet still have the energy and time to bring family together. Mary would cook dinners, hold parties and often travel to her grandchildren’s various activities.
She had a serious, lifelong interest in history and enjoyed learning about people throughout many periods of history. Mary was known for her wonderful sense of humor and for being a caring conversationalist.
