Mary Jane Klein's Obituary
Mary Jane Klein, age 97, of Pleasant Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the comfort of her home, while surrounded by the love of her family. Mary Jane was born in Pittsburgh on December 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Clements and Ethel (McBriar) Schohn.
Mary Jane was the wife of the late Thomas A. Klein, joining him in Heaven on their wedding anniversary. She was the mother of Thomas E. Klein (Dot) and Donna L. Kinney (Thomas); the grandmother of Thomas W. Klein (Ramona), William T. Sauer (Denise), and Kevin Klein (Kristin); the step grandmother of Niall (Emily) and Leslie Kinney, and Ken (Denise), Joe (Kim) and Tony (Cortney) Lerro and she was the proud great grandmother of eleven. She also leaves a loving niece and nephew.
In addition to her husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, William "Bill" Schohn (Marie), John "Jack" Schohn (Gertrude), and Malcolm Schohn and her sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Seibel (Bob) and Jane Schohn.
Mary Jane graduated from Brentwood High School in 1945. She went on to work for the Keystone Mutual Casualty Company and later enjoyed a long career as a secretary with the Board of Education from 1967- 1990, working at South Hills High School and Knoxsville Middle School.
In her free time, Mary Jane could be found crafting and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed trips to the casino with her daughter. Her greatest joy in life however was being with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 1:00 -7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Mary Jane will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
