Mary G. Franko's Obituary
Mary Franko, 81, of South Park, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born in Torrenova, Sicily on April 4, 1945, she was born Maria Giselle DiGiorgio. She was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Agostina DiGiorgio.
Mary is survived by her beloved children, Christine Bywalski (Jeff), Catherine Leonetti (Ron), and Ronald Franko Jr. (Dyan); and by her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Bywalski, Ryan Bywalski, Samuel Leonetti, Lauren Leonetti, and Christine Cable, who all lovingly knew her as Nana. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Mary dedicated many years of service as a member of the South Park School Board. She found joy in gardening, solving crossword puzzles, decorating her home with Christmas lights, and hosting her beloved annual Cookie Exchange with her girls. She was always proud of becoming a naturalized United States citizen on November 12, 1965, and always made voting an important part of her life.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Franko; her brother, Vincenzo DiGiorgio and her sister, Concetta Schuerger.
Friends and family will be received from 4-8pm on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Blessing service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
