Mary L. Brula's Obituary
Mary L. Brula, 89, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 20, 2025.
Mary was a long-time member of Nativity Church. She was always generous with her talents for the benefit of all. She shared her voice, singing with the Nativity Church choir for over 40 years. Her skills as a baker will not soon be forgotten. You could always look forward to her craftily decorated sugar cookies, with carefully placed fixings like colored coconut and jimmies, and mountains of pizzelles during the holiday season. The feeling of togetherness when she was in the kitchen baking with her children and grandchildren will be carried on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Mary will be remembered as a dedicated wife to her husband Walter Brula; a loving mother to Kerri DeGennaro, Marian (the late George) Smyth-Koller, Keith (Judy) Brula and the late Tim Brula and Kim (Dave) Kwolek; Grandmother to Travis Koller, MaKayla Koller, Jacob Kwolek and Sydney Kwolek; sister to Catherine Sherman, and best friend to family dog Elle.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions to The Little Sisters of the Poor https://littlesistersofthepoor.org/ or The American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/
Family and friends are invited to join for visitation on Thursday September 25 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh PA 15236.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday September 26 at 10:00am at Nativity Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish, 5811 Curry Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
