Marty Freyer's Obituary
Martin Freyer, Jr., age 78, of Clarion County, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the comfort of his own home while surrounded by his loving family. Marty grew up in Overbrook, PA, the son of the late Martin Freyer Sr. and Mildred Freyer (Bernhardt). Martin and Karen also lived in South Park, PA for many years.
In his leisure time, Marty found joy in hunting and shooting and he also took great pride in tending to his garden. A talented woodworker, he was known for his meticulous attention to detail. He was a member of the Library Sportsman Club and the Thompson Sportsman Club.
Marty's greatest joy came from building his family alongside his high school sweetheart, Karen. Their love story spanned 58 years, filled with laughter, support, and mutual admiration. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories, remaining partners and best friends until the end.
In addition to his beloved wife, Karen, Marty is survived by his daughter Mary Beth (Dennis) Conaway, his granddaughter Haley Phillips, great grandchildren Corrine and Kayden, sisters-in-law Judy Moss and Marilyn (David) Steingraber and numerous nieces and nephews. Marty was preceded in death by his sisters, Suzanne Keene and Viva Smith.
Services for Martin are private and have been entrusted to Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Marty to the Knox Area Volunteer Ambulance Company, P.O. Box 636, Knox, PA 16232.
