Martha "Margie" Meehan (Montgomery)'s Obituary
On Thursday, October 12, Margie Meehan passed away at age 79 surrounded by family after battling a long illness. Survived by her devoted husband, Roger, of 58 years, loving mother of Karen (Steve) Bachor, Eric (Dawn) Meehan and Melinda (Ken) Janosko. Beloved grandmother of Shane Bocchi, Logan and Erica Janosko; sister to Earl (Judy) Montgomery and sister-in-law Norma (Bob) Lesnak. Margie graduated from Westinghouse High School and earned college degrees in teaching from CCAC and Duquesne University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was a dedicated teacher for over 25 years in the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese. An ever gracious host, Margie loved to entertain and being surrounded by her friends. In addition to raising a family, Margie was very active in the community and church, organizing charitable fundraisers, running for school board and becoming the first President of her neighborhood Home Owners Association. She liked playing bridge and belonged to many bridge clubs. Margie enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and also treasured family vacations at the shore. Friends will be received Monday, Oct. 16, 1-8 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 10 AM at St. Thomas a Becket Church. Burial will be private to the family. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
