Mark John DaBaldo's Obituary
Mark J. DaBaldo, 96, of Clairton, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021. He was born on October 28, 1924, in Clairton to the late Pasquale and Desideria (Alicandro) DaBaldo. He graduated from Clairton High School in 1942. Mark was a US Navy WWII D-Day veteran, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of operation during the war. He was a retired Naval Reservist with the SeaBees. He was a scoutmaster of Troop 68 in Clairton and retired at US Steel Clairton Works. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Clare of Assisi in Clairton.
Mark loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed camping and took an interest in everyone that he met. He was an avid follower of the Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. But most of all he loved the Clairton Bears.
He was preceded in death by his late wife of 63 years, the late Mary (Wankulitz) DaBaldo. He was the father of the late Mary Ann (Jay) Harper. He is survived by daughter Cynthia (Ronald) Cobb of McMurray; three sons; Chester (Sally Hack) DaBaldo of McLean, VA, John (Diana) DaBaldo of Bluffton, SC, and Thomas (Antoinette) DaBaldo of Clairton. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Alicandro, and 6 brothers; John, Anthony L., Paul, Angelo, Michael, and Anthony P. DaBaldo.
