Mark Douglas Cushey's Obituary
Mark D. Cushey, a man of many passions and a heart full of love, passed away suddenly on August 28, 2023. Born on May 12, 1961, Mark lived a life full of adventure, curiosity, and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mark was a devoted husband to Gloria Cushey, the love of his life. He was a loving stepfather to Danielle Friend, always there to lend a supportive hand or share a laugh. Mark was predeceased by his parents, James and Beverly Cushey, who instilled in him a strong work ethic and a love for life. He is also survived by his sister, Jennifer (Dave) Seeley, and his beloved nieces and nephew, Erin, Ryan, Megan, and Kristen Seeley. Mark's extended family of many other nieces, nephews, and friends will remember him fondly for his zest for life and his unwavering kindness.
Mark's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He was an avid enthusiast of Ham and CB radios, often spending hours tuning into the world around him. His fascination with police and fire scanners was a testament to his love for community and his respect for those who serve it. Mark was also a dedicated American history buff, always eager to delve into the stories of our nation's past.
His love for speed was evident in his passion for cars and bikes. Anything fast enough to give him a thrill was sure to catch his attention. Despite his adventurous spirit, Mark was a dedicated worker, always putting in the effort to ensure a job well done. Yet, he never missed an opportunity to have a good time. Mark was also an avid camper since birth.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 11, 2023 and Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm and the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 13 at 12 noon in the funeral home's chapel.
